Coverage of Israeli Web 2.0 Startups

I wanted to write a few words on the Techcrunch Lunch. First of all, it was covered nicely by Yaniv Golan and by Ouriel (among others). Also, many people read about it, as I got a lot of comments about my participation in the event.

But actually, there is a piece of news here. About a month ago (January 29th), I complained that Mike does not cover any of the Israeli Web 2.0 start-ups (Check here). I am glad that he discovered our little region, and that he covered (and will cover) some of the local start-ups.

But what about additional bloggers? Mashable, Ajaxian, Emily Chang, and others (that I probably don't know) have not yet discovered Israel. I really hope we will see more coverage of Israeli Start-ups in the near future. I think the local pipeline is great, and it's still very early in the game.

One final word - My friend Aner just launched the Gardener, trying to create a group blog for the local Web2 scene. I know of at least 2 other people that want to create a "local techcrunch". I think these blogs will spread the word about some of the great things that are being developed here.

maybe we should just invite them to come to israel?

I think that's a great idea. We should do a "bloggers tour" toward the end of the year.
